How to Apply for PM Surya Ghar — Step by Step

Visit pmsuryaghar.gov.inThis is the only official portal. Register with your mobile number and electricity consumer number.

Apply for rooftop solarFill the application form with your details. Select your DISCOM (electricity distribution company) and system size.

Get feasibility approval from DISCOMYour DISCOM reviews the application and gives technical feasibility approval. This takes 7–30 days.

Select empanelled vendorChoose from DISCOM-empanelled solar vendors listed on the portal. Do NOT use unregistered vendors — subsidy will not apply.

Installation and net meteringVendor installs the solar panel. DISCOM installs net meter (measures units fed back to grid). Inspection is done.

Subsidy credited to bank accountAfter successful installation and net meter commissioning, the subsidy is directly credited to your Aadhaar-linked bank account within 30 days.
